Los Angeles Clippers at Golden State Warriors Preview, Tips and Odds

We all know what LA is capable of. When they trailed by 31 in Game 2, they were able to erase the deficit and come all the way back for the victory. That game aside though, they have not been able to pick up any wins. They gave a terrific Game 4 effort, but it just would not end up their favor. Their young players have shown a lot of promise, as next year, this may very well be a 50+ win team.

Golden State has had to adjust on the fly. They planned to have DeMarcus Cousins for their whole playoff run this year, making them as dominant as ever. When he suffered a season-ending quad injury in Game 2, it had to take a toll on the players, which played a part in their blown lead. Since then, they have gone 2-0, and Andrew Bogut has fit in well with his old team in his return.

Clippers vs. Warriors stats

Clippers: Down by 10 points at the end of the first quarter, these guys never stopped fighting on Sunday. They saw a career-high performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who poured in 25 points. The defense was as tight as it could be. They played their tails off and shot the ball more effectively than Golden State from beyond the arc. They were -16 on the boards and were -7 on the offensive glass too. The fact that they were unable to slow GS on that end while being unable to get second chances really hurt them. Lou Williams did not come to play in the fourth.

Warriors: Each game in this series has seen one of the Warriors’ big three players step up. Curry had his game. Durant poured in 38 during a Game 3 drubbing after being held to a single-digit number of shots in Game 2. And then Klay came out firing and finished with 32 points. KD added another 33 to keep his streak going. They only made 12 of 31 threes, but we usually don’t see them “struggle” from downtown for more than a game at a time. With Andrew Bogut and Draymond setting screens as they are, it won’t be easy for LA.

Clippers vs. Warriors H2H

Only two Clippers starters are scoring in double figures in this series, and if their starting unit cannot get into a groove at the start of tonight’s game, it could be over as fast as it starts. Meanwhile, Andre Iguodala has stepped up and knocked down shots for the Warriors consistently in this series.

Be sure you bet GS -14! Golden State is going to end this series in five games tonight and get ready to face the winner of Houston vs. Utah. The Clippers will give the Warriors a good fight, but it won’t be enough.
