Golden State Warriors at Toronto Raptors Preview, Tips and Odds

So far, they have not been able to get the job done, and these Warriors are one loss away from their first Finals series defeat since 2016. They have had to deal with injuries to most of their key guys, and nothing has come easy. They have had to make so many adjustments, but nothing has worked. Tonight, however, Kevin Durant will make his return to the lineup, and try and lead GS back.

Toronto, on the other hand, has played an absolute perfect series. They have had to deal with injuries of their own, as Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry have been playing at less than 100%, while OG Anunoby, normally a key defensive piece, is just getting back from injury. The eight players in their rotation all play their hearts out when given a chance, and that is what separates them from GS. Their ability to knock down shots, combined with lockdown D.

Warriors at Raptors stats

Warriors: Klay Thompson made his return to the lineup, and he poured in 28 points to lead his team, while Steph added 27. The rest of the team would combine for just 37 points, which sums up this series perfectly. Nobody for GS has gone for 20+ points in any game in this series outside of the Splash Brothers, which highlights just how important Kevin Durant is to their success. Draymond is versatile in all facets of the game, on both ends, but we saw that he cannot be counted upon to be one of their top scorers. With KD returning to the lineup, they may start Green at the center spot, opening up the floor a bit more.

Raptors: What more could you possibly ask for? Kawhi Leonard has been having a historic playoff run, one which has seen him score 30+ points 14 times, the third most in a single postseason. Pascal Siakam has been locked in, while Kyle Lowry has proved his value to all the nay-sayers, making key defensive plays at every critical juncture. Serge Ibaka has been protecting the rim as we used to see him do, and he even added 20 points in Game 4, which really helped them to cushion their advantage. It is a team effort in the Six, and they are one win away.

Warriors at Raptors H2H

Since 2005, teams entering a Game 5 trailing 3-1 and coming off back-to-back losses are just 3-17 straight up and 10-10 against the spread. This puts the Warriors in a bit of a perilous spot. Also worth noting that GS is 11-2 straight-up under Steve Kerr in the game that follows them shooting UNDER 30% from three.
