Both high-octane Los Angeles squads are coming off of dominating wins in week 2. The Rams shut out the Cardinals 34-0, and the Chargers beat the Bills 31-20 in a game that was not as close as the final score showed. Although they are not in the same conference, each game this season could have implications in their respective divisions.
The Rams are considered 7 point favorites in this game, while the money line is -300. The Chargers are getting a 7 point spread and a +250 money line.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Los Angeles Rams Stats
The Chargers have shown themselves to be one of the more impressive passing teams in the league. They rank 4th in the league in passing yards, only behind Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, and New Orleans. Philip Rivers has been a consistent force for the Chargers for the years that he has been there, and has been overshadowed by other Quarterbacks throughout the league. He threw for 3 touchdowns to 2 different receivers in their win over the Bills.
The Chargers are also 3rd in total yards per game. The running game will need to improve, however, as they are 11th in that category. Despite having arguably the best running back in the game, the Rams rank just 13th in the league in rushing yards and 7th in total yards. One explanation could be that Gurley is used to catch passes as well.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Los Angeles Rams Head to Head
The Chargers defense will need to show up against by what is, by all accounts, a good offensive front for the Rams. The Chargers sacked Buffalo Quarterback Josh Allen time and time again, and that trend will need to continue. Look for linebacker Kyzir White to make an impact on this game, as he showed great skills in coverage and on the rush in his last game. On the Rams side, they will need to get Todd Gurley going early to establish the run so Jared Goff can run the passing game.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Los Angeles Rams Predictions
Ask any expert, and they will likely tell you that the Rams will take this game. I am not disputing that, however giving the Chargers, a good team by anyone’s standards, 7 points makes this prediction a tough one. The Chargers, stat-wise, have just as good of an offense as the Rams. They have a veteran Quarterback playing as well as he ever has, and they put together a good performance last week.
The Rams have a dynamic team on both sides of the ball and are considered by most to be the class of the NFL. However, this game, on paper, looks like a close game that will be decided by 1, 3, or maybe 6 points. The Rams will probably win this game, but it is tough to bet against a team as good as the Chargers when they are given 7 points. Bet on the Los Angeles Chargers to cover the spread at +7!
