Buffalo Bills vs. Green Bay Packers Preview, Tips & Odds

The Buffalo Bills come into Week 4 after completing by far the biggest upset of the year, defeating the Minnesota Vikings 27-6. So, who knows which Bills team we’ll see this week in Green Bay? We could see them carry last week’s momentum into this week’s matchup, as they take on the Packers who are coming off a loss to the Washington Redskins. Buffalo is currently tied for second in the AFC East only trailing the 3-0 Miami Dolphins. Green Bay shares a 1-1-1 record with the Vikings, who both trail the 2-1 Chicago Bears in the NFC North.

Despite the Bills big win last week, they still come in as double-digit road underdogs to the Packers. Green Bay is favored -10, as the Bills travel to Lambeau Field on Sunday for a noon kickoff.

Bills vs. Packers Head to Head

Buffalo leads the all-time series versus the Packers 8-4. The last time these two teams faced off was in December of 2014, when the Bills won by a score of 21-13. Both quarterbacks struggled heavily in that game as Kyle Orton started for Buffalo that week and completed 14-of-27 pass attempts for 158 yards and an interception.

Aaron Rodgers had a rough outing as well only completing 17-of-42 pass attempts for 185 yards and two interceptions. It was a big day on the ground that day for Eddie Lacy who led the game in rushing with 15 carries for 97 yards and a touchdown. A lot has since changed since this game and as long as the Packers have Aaron Rodgers they’ll be contending for a Super Bowl. The Bills are still amidst their rebuilding faze with rookie quarterback Josh Allen behind center.

Bills vs. Packers Stats

Allen was incredible last week on the road in Minnesota. He completed 15-of-22 passes for 196 passing yards and a touchdown pass. The plays he made with his feet were just as impressive, carrying the ball ten times for 39 yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Packers are still working with a hobbled Aaron Rodgers who was held out of practice on Wednesday.

It’s the same routine he has followed the last two weeks after exiting Week 1 with a knee injury. He is in no danger of missing Sunday’s game. Green Bay is still desperately searching for a run-game and maybe they can find it this week between Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, and Ty Montgomery, if they get off to a big lead.

Bills vs. Packers News

The Packers will be without their starting right guard, Justin McCray, on Sunday. It will be Byron Bell starting in his place instead. After sending Davon House to the IR, the Packers signed former Redskins cornerback Bashaud Breeland. The Bills also signed offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles after trading Marshall Newhouse to the Panthers.

Bills vs. Packers Predictions

We project the Packers to get back on track this week and defeat the Bills 28-14.
