Cowboys vs. Redskins Odds

The Redskins are only favored by -1.5 this week even with home-field advantage. The Redskins are currently 2-1 when playing at home this season with their only loss coming to the Colts back in Week 2. The Cowboys look to change their fortune as they are 0-3 on the road this season, but a dominating win over the league’s best defense last week could fuel them past their divisional foes this week.

Total: 41.5

Cowboys vs. Redskins Head to Head

The Cowboys have owned this rivalry with a record of 70-44-2. They’ve swept the Redskins in their last four games over the past couple of years, as the last Redskins QB to beat the Cowboys was a combination of Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy back in 2016.

The Cowboys have been searching for a receiver to step up all season, and Cole Beasley did just that against the Jaguars reeling in nine catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns. The Cowboys found the Achilles heel of the Jaguars’ defense by exploiting the middle of the field with Beasley coming out of the slot position. We’ll see if Beasley and Dak Prescott can keep that connection going as Beasley is now up to 26 receptions for 294 yards and two touchdowns on the season. The veterans for the Redskins pushed them to a victory against the Panthers as QB Alex Smith passed for 163 yards and two touchdowns, while Adrian Peterson keeps trucking as he carried the ball 17 times for 97 yards.

Cowboys vs. Redskins Stats

The Dallas offense runs through Ezekiel Elliott who has 586 rushing yards on the season, placing him in second place to Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams. Elliott will be going up against a very tough Redskins run defense who rank 6th in the league, allowing just 90.2 rushing yards per game. Dallas ranks 2nd in the NFL with 147.5 rushing yards per game. Dallas also gives up 17.2 points per game, ranking them 2nd in the NFL.

Cowboys vs. Redskins News

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said WR Tavon Austin is not looking good for Week 7 with a groin injury. Jones hinted that Austin is dealing with a multi-week injury. Austin has just seven receptions on the season for 130 yards and two touchdowns, which is tied with Cole Beasley for the most receiving touchdowns on the team. The Redskins are considering RB Chris Thompson day to day with knee and rib soreness. Thompson practiced all last week before being deactivated against the Panthers, and was sorely missed as Kapri Bibbs is not an effective player.
