Cowboys vs. Giants Head to Head
It will be interesting to see if the Cowboys decide to rest any of their stars this week already having clinched a playoff spot. Despite Dallas clinching the division and being locked into the No. 4 seed, Ezekiel Elliott plans to play in Sunday’s regular-season finale. The running back believes the Cowboys offensive starters need to play Week 17 to build momentum heading into January. Ezekiel Elliott leads the NFL in rushing yards (1,434), hungry for that 2018 rushing title.
The Giants have been without Odell Beckham Jr. for their past three games, as they have yet to rule out Beckham against the Cowboys. Still, with the Giants not really playing for anything but pride, it would be a shock to most if he plays. If Beckham were to suit up, he’d likely draw coverage from first-time Pro Bowler Byron Jones. Jones leads the league in forced incompletion percentage in 2018 at 29%. Such an impressive season after converting from the safety position he played in last season for the Cowboys.
Cowboys vs. Giants Stats
There’s no secret to how good Amari Cooper has been since Dallas dealt their 2019 first round draft pick to the Oakland Raiders. Much like the Chicago Bears trading for Khalil Mack from Oakland, the Cowboys took advantage of Jon Gruden’s decision to trade his best players for draft picks, and it has worked out for both the Bears and Cowboys, who both have clinched their divisions. As far as Cooper’s availability for Sunday’s game against the Giants goes, “I want to play every play. It’s football. I love the game,” said Cooper. Over the last five weeks, Cooper has racked up 252 yards after the catch, which is the most for all receivers in that time.
Cowboys vs. Giants News
Giants coach Pat Shurmur does not expect Odell Beckham to practice Thursday dealing with that quad injury. Sterling Shepard would be in play to be the Giants top receiver against the Cowboys, coming off an impressive game against the Colt with 6 catches for 113 yards. Saquon Barkley has been in a slump as of late but will try to finish the year strong against a Dallas team he combined for 108 yards against back in their first meeting.
Cowboys vs. Giants Predictions
The Giants allow the 25thmost rushing yards per game (110.5), as we expect Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys to come in build momentum heading into the playoffs. We’re picking Dallas on the road this week 28-21.
