Worth mentioning: Chelsea recorded a slender 1:0 win in the first meeting in Prague. It was not easily achieved, as the Londoners had to wait until the 86th minute to finally see their efforts rewarded. Spanish defender Marcos Alonso was the unlikely hero for the Blues, while goalkeeper Kepa Arizabalaga also deserves good words for his performance, as he did not allow the Czech’s to score.

Worth mentioning: Chelsea went down to title challengers Liverpool at the weekend. None of the last four Chelsea outings witnessed goals at both ends, while just one produced over 2,5 goals. The Blues last loss at Stamford Bridge to Manchester United and six games have been played at Chelsea’s home since then, with the Londoners recording five victories all garnered with a clean sheet. The single goal they conceded in the process was enough for the only draw, which was achieved by Wolverhampton.
There was not a case of Slavia Prague going two games with less than two goals scored until the meeting with Chelsea the previous week. The Czechs scored a combined one goal during that and the weekend game in their domestic league. Across the two visits of the knock-out stage of Europa League Slavia scored six goals, two against Sevilla and four to Genk.
