Real Madrid and Eder Militao extend contract to 2028

Eder Militao might have played just 1 game for Real Madrid this season, but the club and player have decided to extend the current contract to 2028. Los Blancos have inserted a €1 billion release clause into the new deal which will see the Brazilian remain in the Spanish capital for another four years. Militao is currently recovering from a torn ACL injury sustained on the very first round of LaLiga action for the 2023/24 season. The center-back is expected to return to full training soon and be ready to play as early as March.

Militao joined Real Madrid from Porto in the summer of 2019 in excess of a €50 million. During his time in Spain, the central defender has won 2 LaLiga titles, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. He has represented Los Blancos 143 times across all competitions and has scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists.
