In terms of rebounds, he has gone from 2.9 to 3.7 while Maxey’s assists on a nightly basis have jumped from 3.5 to 6.2.

Chicago Bulls’ Coby White ended in 2nd place in the voting, and Houston’s Alperen Sengun rounded off the top 3. Maxey – the 21st pick from the 2020 draft is in his 4th year in the NBA, and succeeds Utah’s Lauri Markanen as the Most Improved Player in the league.

The MIP award is the first of seven to be announced in the coming weeks, including the All-NBA, All-Rookie, and All-Defensive teams. We are also yet to learn who will win the Most Valuable Player for the regular season.
