Olympiacos reaches Europa Conference League final with another victory against Aston Villa

Olympiacos defeated Aston Villa 2:0 at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus in the 2nd semi-finals meeting in Europa Conference League and booked their tickets for the tournament’s final. It will be a special occasion for the club, as this will be first final appearance in a major European competition, and the title decider will take place in the Greek capital Athens on 29th of May.

Aston Villa had 70% of ball possesion on Thursday night, but were unable to convert any of their 14 goal attempts, while Olympiacos’ hat-trick hero from the first meeting from a week ago was on fire once again. Ayoub El Kaabi almost mirrored his achievement from Birmigham but this time the Moroccan he finished the game with a brace. El Kaabi found the back of Villa’s net once in each period and has been personally responsible for 5 goals in Olympiacos’ 6:2 aggregate victory.

In the tournament’s final match the Greeks will meet last season’s runner-ups Fiorentina, who eliminated Club Brugge in the other Europe Conference League semi-final on Wednesday.
