Fenerbahce very close to appointing Jose Mourinho

Fenerbahce are on the verge of securing Jose Mourinho as their new manager. The Portuguese specialist has already given his verbal agreement, and the contract is currently being reviewed by Mourinho’s camp. As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, an official announcement could take place as early as today.

The agreement between Mourinho and Fenerbahce is for a two-year contract, valid until June 2026, with an option to extend for an extra season. Super agent Jorge Mendes has been negotiating the deal, which is now in its final stages, pending the signing of all formal documents. Fenerbahce’s president, Ali Koc, is on his way to London to meet with Mourinho and to watch the UEFA Champions League final.

Jose Mourinho’s last managerial role was with Roma, where he achieved significant success. With him at the helm, Roma won the very first edition of UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022, marking the club’s first European trophy in over six decades. Mourinho’s tenure at Roma also saw the team reach the Europa League final in 2023. The legendary manager has sacked in January of this year, after leading the team in 138 matches.
