Lazio and Kamada fail to reach agreement on new contract, Japanese international likely to join Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are close to signing Daichi Kamada as a free agent following the collapse of his contract extension talks with Lazio. The Premier League club, led by manager Oliver Glasner, is close to finalizing the deal, with a formal announcement expected soon.

Yesterday, it was reported that Lazio were waiting for Kamada to agree on the release clause value to complete his contract extension, having already settled on the salary terms. Lazio sought a release clause of around €20 million, while Kamada wanted a lower figure and the disagreement ultimately led to the breakdown of negotiations.

Today’s developments confirm that Crystal Palace are closing in on the deal to bring Kamada to the Premier League. Fabrizio Romano claims that Oliver Glasner, who previously worked with Kamada at Eintracht Frankfurt, personally called the player, expressing his desire to reunite and work together again. Lazio director Fabiani personally confirmed the collapse of the contract extension talks, acknowledging that Crystal Palace have moved quickly to secure Kamada’s services. A verbal agreement is nearly complete between Crystal Palace and Kamada’s camp, with only formal steps remaining to finalize the transfer.
