Liverpool’s academy has produced plenty talented players over the years, and two of its promising graduates, Jarrel Quansah and Caoimhín Kelleher, have recently shared their ambitions. Quansah, a 21-year-old center-back, is determined to make his mark at Anfield. Speaking about his goals, he said, “I want to be the best defender in Europe one day. I’m up against the best centre halves in the world at Liverpool, in my opinion – I think I’ll have to be one of the best centre halves in Europe if I’m starting.”
🚨 Kelleher: “I’ve made it clear in the last few years that I want to leave to be a number one”.

On the other hand, Kelleher, the 25-year-old goalkeeper, has expressed his desire for a more prominent role away from Liverpool. Having spent most of his career as a backup to Alisson Becker, Kelleher is eager to become a first-choice keeper elsewhere. “I’ve made it clear in the last few years that I want to leave to be a number one,” Kelleher said. “Sometimes from the outside looking in, it looks like maybe that’s 100% my decision but maybe at times it’s not always in my hands as well.”
While Quansah is focused on breaking through at Liverpool, Kelleher appears ready to explore new opportunities, seeking more consistent first-team football. Both players recorded career-high appearances in the 2023/24 season, with Quansah featuring 17 times and Kelleher appearing in 10 matches for the Reds.
