The New York Knicks secured their spot in the Eastern Conference semifinals of the NBA Playoffs, where they will face the Boston Celtics, after defeating the Detroit Pistons 116-113 in Game 6 to win the series 4-2. The game, held in Detroit, saw the Knicks survive a fierce comeback and close out the series with late-game heroics.

New York opened the contest strong, racing to a 20:8 lead and finishing the first quarter up 37:23. Detroit clawed back in the second, levelling the score at 49:49 and eventually taking a 61:59 advantage into halftime.

The third quarter swung back in favour of the Knicks, who opened with a 6-0 run. After a brief tie at 65:65, they pulled ahead again and held a 96:85 lead heading into the final period.

The Pistons refused to fold, tying the game at 105:105 midway through the fourth and even taking a 112:105 lead. But the Knicks responded with an 8:0 run, capped by a Mikal Bridges putback that made it 113:113 with just over 30 seconds left. Cade Cunningham missed a three on the next possession, and Jalen Brunson hit a deep triple with five seconds remaining to give New York the win.

Brunson finished with 40 points and 7 assists, leading the Knicks. Mikal Bridges scored 25, OG Anunoby had 22, and both Karl-Anthony Towns (10 pts, 15 rebs) and Josh Hart (13 pts, 10 rebs) posted double-doubles.

For Detroit, Cade Cunningham had 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists. Jalen Duren added 21, and Malik Beasley scored 20 off the bench.
