The Minnesota Timberwolves delivered a powerful blow to the Golden State Warriors with a 117-93 victory, tying the Western Conference semifinal playoff series at 1-1.

The Timberwolves took advantage of the absence of injured Stephen Curry and left no chance for the visitors. Minnesota led from the start and never relinquished control. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 29-15, and the Timberwolves won every period, building a 20-point lead before the final quarter.

Julius Randle led the way with 24 points, while Anthony Edwards and Nickeil Alexander-Walker each added 20. The Timberwolves’ balanced offence and solid defence kept the Warriors in check throughout the game.

For the Warriors, Jimmy Butler was the top scorer with 17 points, followed by Buddy Hield with 15. Without Curry, Golden State struggled to generate consistent offence and had difficulty keeping up with Minnesota’s pace.

Stephen Curry is dealing with a thigh muscle strain and is expected to be sidelined for a few more days. The hope is that he can return for Game 4, but even that seems uncertain.

Golden State will host Minnesota in the next two games, but without their leader and one of the league’s biggest stars, the Warriors will face a tough challenge.
