Minnesota Timberwolves ended the Golden State Warriors’ season with a decisive 121-110 victory, claiming the series 4-1 and securing their second consecutive appearance in the Western Conference finals. The Timberwolves capitalised on Stephen Curry’s absence, winning four straight games to advance and will now face either Oklahoma City Thunder or Denver Nuggets in the next round.

“Not taking anything away from Minnesota. They simply deserved their triumph. Back to back Western Conference Finals. Pretty damn impressive.” admitted Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. His team found themselves trailing by 15 points at halftime and never managed to recover.

Julius Randle led the Timberwolves with 29 points on impressive shooting (13 of 18 from the field), while Anthony Edwards added 22 points and 12 assists. Rudy Gobert contributed 17 points, and veteran Mike Conley scored 16, giving Minnesota a balanced scoring effort.

The Timberwolves were exceptionally efficient, shooting 63% from the field. Despite attempting 12 fewer shots than the Warriors, they converted 49 field goals compared to Golden State’s 39, a difference that the Californian team could not overcome.

For Golden State, Brandon Podziemski scored 28 points, and Jonathan Kuminga added 26, but Jimmy Butler finished with just 17 points and failed to make a significant impact. The Warriors fell behind by 21 points before the final quarter, briefly reducing the gap to nine, but Minnesota quickly regained control to seal the win.
