    Key Takeaways:

  • Kevin Durant is on San Antonio Spurs’ radar for a potential summer move
  • Spurs have the assets to target a superstar like Durant or Giannis Antetokounmpo
  • Victor Wembanyama is expected to be fully fit for preseason after shoulder issue

One of the NBA’s biggest superstars – Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant – is likely to become a transfer target for the San Antonio Spurs this summer, according to renowned journalist Shams Charania.

The Texas franchise could aim to add a marquee player such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, and 36-year-old Durant is also firmly on their radar. Charania explained that the Spurs possess the necessary resources to complete such a deal.

“They have tons of assets. They have tradable contracts, picks No. 2 and No. 14 in this year’s Draft, and a lot of future selections. So it could be a player like Giannis Antetokounmpo, and I think Kevin Durant is another guy they’re keeping an eye on,” Charania shared during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“There was mutual interest between them around the trade deadline this season. I think the Spurs will actively pursue a wing who can elevate their team,” he added.

During the same segment, Charania also revealed that he expects Spurs’ young French star Victor Wembanyama to be fully recovered and ready for the start of the team’s preseason. Wemby is currently recovering from a medical issue – specifically a venous thrombosis in his right shoulder.
