Arsenal and RB Leipzig proceed with Benjamin Sesko negotiations

    Key Takeaways:

  • Benjamin Sesko transfer talks between RB Leipzig and Arsenal intensify
  • Arsenal are fully focused on bringing in Benjamin Sesko
  • The €80M release clause remained a key stumbling block

Negotiations between RB Leipzig and Arsenal for 21-year-old Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko are in full swing, according to top journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The report states that the London club is fully concentrated on signing Sesko, but Arsenal have not abandoned their desire to also bring in Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon during the summer.

It is clarified that a few days ago, a meeting took place in London between the executives of the two clubs, Marcel Schafer and Andrea Berti, during which Sesko’s transfer was specifically discussed.

The main obstacle to completing the deal is that Arsenal are not yet certain whether they can afford to pay the €80 million release clause for the Slovenian forward in a single payment. Current talks are focused on the possibility of paying the amount in instalments.

In the Bundesliga last season, Benjamin Sesko made 33 appearances for Leipzig, scoring 13 goals.
