Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham has given his approval to join Borussia Dortmund. According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the 19-year-old footballer has made a final decision to wear the kit of the German club, despite receiving other offers.

Bellingham had been in contact with Eintracht Frankfurt, but he has informed the management of the Eagles that he will be signing with another team. Borussia Dortmund are expected to pay around €30 million for the talented Englishman, although negotiations between the clubs have not yet begun.

Jobe Bellingham had a great 2024/25 season with Sunderland in the Championship. He played in 43 matches, scoring 4 goals, and helped the Black Cats earn promotion to the Premier League after winning the final playoff against Sheffield United. His performances did not go unnoticed, and he went on to win the Young Player of the Season award at the 2025 EFL Awards, exactly five years after his older brother Jude received the same honour. As a result of his strong campaign, Borussia Dortmund are expected to pay around €30 million for the talented Englishman, although negotiations between the clubs have not yet begun.

Jobe will follow in the footsteps of his brother Jude, who left his hometown club Birmingham City for Borussia Dortmund in 2020. After three successful seasons at Signal Iduna Park, Jude made a high-profile move to Real Madrid for €103 million.
