The personal terms with the player had already been settled, and all that remained was an agreement between the clubs – something that now appears to be finalised. City’s initial offer of around €60 million was rejected a few days ago.
Reijnders was one of Milan’s standout performers during an otherwise disappointing season. He played 54 matches, scoring 15 goals and providing 5 assists. Despite the Rossoneri extending his contract in March until 2030, their absence from European competitions likely played a role in the decision to sell one of their key players.
City are also working on two more signings – Lyon’s attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki and Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri. Milan, meanwhile, could replace Reijnders with Real Madrid legend Luka Modric, who is currently a free agent.
