- Chelsea dropped their pursuit of AC Milan’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan
- Milan rejected three bids under their €25M minimum
- Talks with Dortmund for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens are ongoing
Key Takeaways:
Chelsea have made a final decision to abandon their pursuit of AC Milan’s first-choice goalkeeper Mike Maignan, reports Fabrizio Romano. This development came after three failed bids from the Blues. They initially offered just €10 million, followed by €15 million, and finally €21 million, but the Rossoneri remained firm on their minimum asking price of €25 million.

As a result, the London club have pulled out of attempts to sign Maignan, whose contract with Milan runs for only one more season. Chelsea had hoped to secure the French international in time for the start of the Club World Cup, but after realising that would not be possible, they chose to end their interest.
On the other hand, Chelsea are continuing negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over the signing of winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. Although there has been no significant progress in those talks either, unlike the Maignan case, the Londoners are not in a rush to complete the deal and are therefore willing to keep discussions open with BVB in hopes of a positive outcome.
