Coppola, who is currently with Italy’s U21 national team at the European Championship, recently earned his first cap for the senior Azzurri side. That came about ten days ago in the loss to Norway, followed by another appearance in the win over Moldova.
Speaking about his move, Coppola expressed gratitude to Verona, stating he “lived all the emotions” at the club and is “so happy” to join Brighton.
“Diego is an exciting addition for the club. Although still young, he is tall, strong, and mobile and will give us real physical presence. He has made impressive progress in Serie A and earned his call-up to the Italian national team. We look forward to helping him develop further,” said Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler.
