Oklahoma City Thunder won Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers and are now just one victory away from the championship. The Thunder triumphed 120:109 (32:22, 27:23, 28:34, 33:30) at the Paycom Center and took a 3:2 lead in the series.

Oklahoma seized the initiative from the start and led by 10 points after the first quarter. They maintained that advantage for most of the game, allowing Indiana to reduce the deficit by half at one point in the third, but never letting it disappear entirely.

In the end, the hosts secured the win and made another big step toward the title, needing just one more victory to be crowned champions.

The big hero on the night was Jalen Williams, who scored a fantastic 40 points for the Thunder. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was also at his usual high level, finishing with a double-double of 31 points and 10 assists. Aaron Wiggins added another 14 points for the home side’s success.

For Indiana, Pascal Siakam led the way with 28 points. T.J. McConnell finished with 18, and Aaron Nesmith contributed 14 more. Tyrese Haliburton had particularly disappointing night, concluding the game with just 4 points, and shooting 0-for-6 from the field.

Oklahoma can clinch the championship in the next game, scheduled for June 19 in Indianapolis. The Pacers are now up against the wall and must win to tie the series and keep their title hopes alive.
