The Bundesliga runners-up will pay €30 million to the Reds from Anfield, including bonuses, for Quansah. The centre-back will sign a five-season contract. The two clubs are also involved in the most expensive transfer this summer, that of Florian Wirtz to Liverpool, with the attacking midfielder reportedly completing the first part of his medical examinations today.
Quansah is expected to undergo medical tests next week, after which he will officially become a Leverkusen player.
At the same time, Bayer have also reached an agreement with Swedish side Hacken for 20-year-old Senegalese centre-back Abdoulaye Faye. Leverkusen view the signing as an investment in the future. Faye is expected to be loaned out to another club for the upcoming season, though the destination has not yet been decided.
