- Chelsea and Manchester United could swap Nkunku and Garnacho
- Ruben Amorim does not count on Garnacho after late-season conflict
- Manchester United raise Mbeumo bid to over £60M after first offer was rejected
Key Takeaways:
Chelsea and Manchester United could be set for a surprising swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku and Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine winger is not in the plans of Ruben Amorim after a fallout at the end of the season, and United are looking to offload him. Chelsea had shown interest in Garnacho back in January, so it is no surprise the London club want to capitalise on the current situation.

Nkunku, meanwhile, has struggled to secure a starting role at Chelsea, with Enzo Maresca mostly using him in Conference League matches. The Frenchman has only nine Premier League starts and three goals. His contract with Chelsea runs until 2029. So far, United have not submitted an official offer for Nkunku. The French forward joined Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2023 for £53 million.
The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha and have just submitted a new bid for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo. Last month, the Bees rejected United’s first offer of £45 million plus an additional £10 million in bonuses. The new bid exceeds £60 million, bringing it closer to Brentford’s asking price.
