Key Takeaways:
Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has decided to remain at Manchester United, the Mirror has revealed. The 33-year-old is determined to be part of Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup and believes staying in the Premier League gives him the best chance of being selected by national team coach Carlo Ancelotti.
His belief was reinforced after receiving praise from the Italian manager following Brazil’s June qualifiers. Casemiro featured in both games – a 0:0 draw with Ecuador and a 1:0 win over Paraguay – marking his first international call-up since October 2023.

At the same time, it has emerged that Dutch club PSV Eindhoven has not activated the buyout clause for left-back Tyrell Malacia. The 25-year-old spent the spring on loan at PSV after being sent out by Manchester United. Following PSV’s decision, Malacia will return to Old Trafford.
Had the Dutch side opted to make the transfer permanent, they would have paid €10 million, while United would have been entitled to 30% of any future sale.
In 2025, Malacia made eight Eredivisie appearances. He joined Manchester United in 2022 for €15 million but failed to secure a regular place and has played only a limited number of matches.
