“We’ve been in talks about a new contract for the past two years, but the decision was easy. I’m staying here and hope to continue developing,” Branthwaite said after putting pen to paper.
“I know the club inside out and I feel accepted by both my teammates and the fans. A lot has changed recently – the new stadium, the new owners, the new manager… This project still excites me and I want to be part of it. I can’t wait for the first match at the new stadium and I hope we have a strong season,” he added.
The 23-year-old center-back played 33 matches for Everton last season, in which the team finished 13th in the Premier League.
