According to Fabrizio Romano, Davide has accepted all terms proposed by the club. Earlier reports revealed that Botafogo offered the 35-year-old Italian a contract running until December 2026.
This marks Davide’s first solo role as a manager, having only worked as part of his father’s coaching staff up to this point. Still, the Ancelottis will remain professionally close, as Carlo Ancelotti was recently appointed head coach of the Brazil national team.
At the end of June, Botafogo sacked former manager Renato Paiva following the team’s surprise Round of 16 exit at the Club World Cup against Palmeiras. Botafogo are the current champions of Brazil and winners of the Copa Libertadores.
