Gyokeres waives €2M to push Arsenal move as Zubimendi signs five-year deal

Viktor Gyokeres has reportedly agreed to forgo €2 million from his salary to facilitate negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon, Record reports.

According to the source, the player gave up part of his wages under the proposed deal with the Gunners so that Arsenal could increase the fixed fee in their new offer to the Portuguese club.

The Gunners have submitted an improved bid for Gyokeres. The London side is now ready to pay €65 million as a guaranteed amount, along with an additional €15 million in performance-based bonuses.

Last season, Gyokeres played 52 matches across all competitions, scoring 54 goals and providing 13 assists. His current contract with Sporting runs until the summer of 2028.

Meanwhile, Arsenal officially announced the transfer of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. Zubimendi, who has signed a five-year deal, becomes the club’s second summer signing after Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was brought in from Chelsea for £5 million. The transfer of Christian Norgaard from Brentford is also expected to be finalised soon.
