Real Madrid finalise €50M deal for Carreras, sell Victor Munoz to Osasuna

Benfica left-back Alvaro Carreras

    Key Takeaways:

  • Real Madrid to pay €50M for Alvaro Carreras in three instalments
  • Medical and contract signing expected soon
  • Osasuna agree €6M deal to buy Victor Munoz from Real Madrid

Real Madrid are very close to finalising their fourth new signing of the summer. Alvaro Carreras is on the verge of joining from Benfica, with the deal seemingly already agreed.

Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that after Real failed to complete the transfer before the Club World Cup, negotiations resumed and have now led to a full agreement. The Spanish club will pay €50 million, split into three instalments — exactly matching Carreras’ release clause, although it will not be activated directly. The same structure was used earlier this summer for the transfer of Dean Hausen from Bournemouth.

Carreras is expected to arrive in the Spanish capital for medical tests, to finalise personal terms, and to sign his contract. If no issues arise, his official presentation could take place as early as the weekend.

At the same time, Osasuna have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of forward Victor Munoz, according to the same source.

The capital club will sell the player for €6 million and will retain 50 percent of the rights from any potential future transfer.

During the 2024/25 season, the 21-year-old Munoz made 4 appearances for Real Madrid’s senior team across all competitions, without scoring. For Castilla, the winger played 34 matches, scoring 11 goals and providing 7 assists.
