    Key Takeaways:

  • Liverpool held a meeting in Paris with Jean-Philippe Mateta and his agent
  • Crystal Palace value the French striker at €50–60 million
  • AC Milan also interested in Mateta

Liverpool representatives have met with Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and his agent. According to journalist Sebastien Denis, the meeting took place a few days ago in Paris.

The 28-year-old Frenchman, who last season scored 17 goals and provided four assists in 46 matches for Crystal Palace across all competitions, is under contract with the Eagles until 2027. It is reported that the London club value him at €50–60 million.

AC Milan are also interested in Mateta, who was part of France’s Olympic team last year. During the tournament, he scored five goals in six matches.

In England, there is strong belief that Liverpool will bring in a new central striker, with numerous names already linked to the Merseyside club. The most desired option is Newcastle’s goalscorer Alexander Isak, although such a transfer is seen as difficult to complete at this stage. Hugo Ekitike and Victor Osimhen have also been associated with the English champions. Before any new striker is signed, however, the club is expected to sell Darwin Nunez.

Liverpool also have their sights on another Crystal Palace player – centre-back Marc Guehi.
