Al-Hilal revive Darwin Nunez pursuit as Liverpool seek quick sale

    Key Takeaways:

  • Al-Hilal revive pursuit of Darwin Nunez after Osimhen snub
  • Milan reportedly submit €60M offer for the Liverpool striker
  • Liverpool keen to sell quickly and pursue replacements Isak and Ekitike

Saudi club Al-Hilal have reignited their interest in Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez. It is claimed that new head coach Simone Inzaghi has personally urged the board to move for the Uruguayan forward, especially after Victor Osimhen rejected multiple offers from Al-Hilal.

Nunez is a transfer target for Napoli, while a report from a leading sports outlet in Riyadh, echoed by the English Mirror, states that Milan have submitted a €60 million (£52 million) bid for the Liverpool striker.

Liverpool are believed to want around £70 million for their central attacker, though such a price is likely achievable only from a Saudi club. Nunez had agreed personal terms with Napoli and preferred a move to the Italian champions, but the Uruguayan now wants his future resolved as soon as possible. Liverpool, for their part, also favour a quick sale in order to focus on bringing in a new player for the position.

It is well known that Arne Slot’s two main targets are Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike. Interestingly, Newcastle currently own the former, and the Magpies are already making progress in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt for the latter.

Transfer specialist Nicolo Schira adds that Isak has been a top priority for Liverpool since March, and the club have never stopped working on his potential signing. However, Newcastle remain unwilling to consider selling the Swedish striker at this stage.
