Diaz has two years left on his contract, and the Merseyside club are trying to persuade him to renew. Ornstein claims the player has already informed the club of his desire to leave. Barcelona have also shown interest in the 27-year-old.
While most English outlets consider this to be Bayern’s first formal offer, Bild reported last week that the German champions had already tabled an opening bid of €52 million.
Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for an initial fee of £37.5 million, with the total potentially rising to £50 million through bonuses. Since arriving at Anfield, he has made 148 appearances, scoring 41 goals and registering 23 assists in all competitions.
