Inter keep pushing for Lookman while Xhaka move awaits Calhanoglu decision

    Key Takeaways:

  • Inter had their first offer for Lookman rejected but are preparing a new bid
  • Atalanta demand at least €50m amid interest from Atletico and Napoli
  • Xhaka transfer depends entirely on Calhanoglu’s situation

Inter’s management remains committed to signing Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. The Nerazzurri’s initial offer was rejected by Atalanta’s camp, but Italian media report that the Milan club is preparing a better proposal.

Atalanta are not willing to part ways with their star for less than €50 million. Atletico Madrid are also in the running for the 27-year-old Nigerian international, which could further raise his price.

Last season, Ademola Lookman finished joint third in the Serie A scoring chart with 15 goals in 31 matches. He also stood out in the Champions League, netting five goals in seven appearances.

Meanwhile, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter is leading the race for Granit Xhaka, but official negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen will only begin once Hakan Calhanoglu’s future is clarified.

The potential transfer of the Swiss midfielder to the Nerazzurri depends entirely on whether and where the Turkish international will be sold.
