    Key Takeaways:

  • Arsenal have opened talks with Crystal Palace over Eberechi Eze, who has a £60M release clause
  • Palace demand at least £35M upfront if the clause is not triggered in full
  • Eze scored the FA Cup-winning goal last season

Arsenal have opened talks with their counterparts at Crystal Palace over the transfer of Eberechi Eze. The Selhurst Park club have been firm in their stance, insisting that the player’s £60 million release clause must be paid or at least matched through an offer of that amount. If the second scenario is reached, Palace will demand that at least £35 million be paid immediately during this summer window. Eze is very eager to move to the Emirates.

The playmaker performed excellently in the past campaign for the Eagles, ranking among the team’s best players with eight goals and eight assists in 34 Premier League appearances. He also played a key role in the club’s FA Cup victory, scoring the winning goal in the final against Manchester City. So far, Arsenal have spent nearly €225 million on new signings. If the deal for Eze is completed, the London side’s total outlay this summer is expected to reach around €300 million.
