Villarreal have officially signed Canadian international Tajon Buchanan from Inter. The Yellow Submarine paid €9 million for the rights to the 26-year-old winger. His contract is for five years.

Buchanan had played on loan at Villarreal in the second half of last season, and has now been bought outright. He recorded 13 appearances and scored two goals for the Spanish side.

The Canadian joined Inter from Club Brugge at the beginning of 2024 but failed to secure a regular place with the Nerazzurri. He has made 51 appearances and scored 8 goals for Canada.

Meanwhile, Inter have submitted a new offer for Atalanta star Ademola Lookman. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Nerazzurri proposed €42 million plus an additional €3 million in bonuses. Atalanta are insisting on a €50 million fee for the Nigerian international.

Lookman will turn 28 in October and is under contract with Atalanta until June 2027. He was signed from RB Leipzig in 2022 for €10.85 million plus €1.5 million in bonuses. The German club will receive a percentage from any future transfer.

Lookman’s representatives have reiterated to Atalanta that the player wants to leave.
