Key Takeaways:
World club champions Chelsea added another name to their long list of players after signing Dutchman Jorrel Hato from Ajax. According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer fee is set at €43 million. The player signed a seven-year contract. Interestingly, this is the first Dutch player in the current Chelsea squad, as last season there were none.

The 19-year-old Hato primarily operates as a left-back but can also be used in central defence.
The deal was close to falling through because Ajax insisted on a fee between €55 and €60 million. Chelsea, on the other hand, did not want to go beyond €41 million. In the end, both sides reached a compromise at €43 million.
“I’m very excited, I’m so happy to be here. Chelsea is the best place for me to do that so I’m very happy!” said the defender.
He leaves behind two seasons with Ajax’ first team and also has six appearances for the senior Netherlands national team.
