The Paris club made first contact with the English side at the beginning of June. Initially, Bournemouth did not want to part ways with the defender, but his wish was to move to PSG, and two months later the deal has been completed. The Cherries are expected to announce the transfer of his replacement, Bafode Diakite from Lille, at any moment, with the player having arrived in Bournemouth yesterday.
Zabarnyi has signed a five-year contract with PSG and will take the number 6 shirt. He becomes the third starting defender sold by Bournemouth this summer, following the departures of Dean Howson and Milos Kerkez. The two transfers brought the Cherries a combined £90 million. In addition, the club parted ways with their first-choice goalkeeper Kepa, who joined Arsenal.
