Juventus Close In On Lucumi After Bologna Talks

Juventus are working through the final details of a move for Jhon Lucumi, with multiple reports indicating that an agreement with Bologna is now effectively in place. The Colombia international had already accepted personal terms with the Bianconeri, and his preference for Juventus over interest from the Premier League, La Liga and the Turkish Super Lig has been central to the progress of the deal.

The two clubs reached the basis of an agreement after a full day of intensive negotiations. The transfer is expected to cost €17-18m initially, with add-ons taking the overall package to €20m.

That final valuation is lower than Bologna had wanted. Even after the €28m release clause in Lucumi’s contract expired, the club had been targeting €25m. However, Bologna recognised the defender’s determination to join Juventus, with Lucumi turning down five alternative offers to keep that route open.

Lucumi’s contractual situation also influenced the talks, as his current deal at the Stadio Dall’Ara runs only to the end of this season. With negotiations now focused on the last formal steps, the defender is expected to undergo medical tests within the next 24-48 hours.

Suzuki Set For PSG Transfer Before Juventus Loan

Juventus are also poised to add Zion Suzuki on loan once his permanent transfer from Parma to Paris Saint-Germain is completed. The Japan international goalkeeper has been given the all-clear to move on to Turin after PSG’s UEFA Super Cup meeting with Aston Villa on Wednesday night, which was reported as a 2-1 PSG victory.

Reports earlier this week stated that PSG had reached an agreement with Parma for Suzuki in a permanent deal worth €35m including bonuses. Once Suzuki’s move to PSG is completed, he is expected to join Juventus on loan for the 2026-27 season.

The arrangement is linked to PSG’s goalkeeping plans, with Matvei Safonov still expected to be the no.1 choice for PSG in 2026-27. Juventus, meanwhile, are hoping to use Suzuki as a stop-gap before trying to sign Alisson Becker on a free transfer from Liverpool next summer.

According to Sportingpedia sources, agreements are already in place between Juventus and PSG, as well as between PSG and Parma, leaving only the final formalities. Juventus and PSG are expected to split Suzuki’s salary equally during the loan spell.

Suzuki is expected to arrive in Paris either today or on Friday for his medical test, before travelling to Turin over the weekend to complete the loan move. PSG reportedly waited until after Wednesday night’s UEFA Super Cup clash with Aston Villa before approving the loan, as they wanted to ensure neither Safonov nor Lucas Chevalier suffered an injury during the match.
