RB Leipzig Step Up Strasbourg Recruitment Push
RB Leipzig are pursuing two RC Strasbourg Alsace players as they look to strengthen their squad, with Samir El Mourabet (20) and Diego Moreira (22) both the subject of reported agreements with the German club.
According to Sportingpedia sources, El Mourabet has agreed contractual terms with RB Leipzig ahead of a potential move to Germany this summer. However, no transfer fee has been disclosed, and Leipzig must still reach an agreement with RC Strasbourg before the deal can be completed.
Those negotiations could prove drawn out, with Leipzig also working on a move for Moreira. The third-placed side in last season’s German league are said to have reached a verbal agreement with the Belgian, according to Sky Sport Deutschland.

El Mourabet Emerges as an Essential Strasbourg Midfielder
El Mourabet remains under contract with RCSA until 2030, but his performances have attracted attention after a breakthrough first full season in Strasbourg’s senior side.
The Moroccan international midfielder, who has nine caps, made 48 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring two goals and providing three assists. He also made his European debut during the 2025-26 campaign, playing in nine of Strasbourg’s 12 Conference League matches.
Moreira Agreement Complicated by Strasbourg Valuation
Moreira, who is viewed as a replacement for Yan Diomandé, is reportedly keen on a move to Germany. He is said to be ready to sign a four-year contract with RB Leipzig, running until 2031.
However, Strasbourg’s asking price could become a major obstacle. Racing are demanding between €60m and €70m to release the Belgian, and although Leipzig have entered talks with the Alsatian club, the Bundesliga side reportedly have no intention of meeting that valuation.
Moreira is under contract until 2029. If the transfer were completed, he could become the most expensive sale in Strasbourg’s history.
