Arsenal Rule Out Nwaneri Sale as Lewis-Skelly Wants to Stay

Ethan Nwaneri
  • Arsenal are not currently considering a permanent sale of Ethan Nwaneri this summer, with BBC Sport reporting that loan offers are being ‘prioritising’
  • Milan, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Fulham are listed among the clubs interested in the 19-year-old England youth international
  • Myles Lewis-Skelly wants to stay at Arsenal, while Manchester United would be interested if Arsenal chose to sell him in the final days of the window

Arsenal’s stance on Nwaneri

Arsenal have reached a firm position on Ethan Nwaneri’s immediate future, with reports in the UK stating that the club do not intend to sanction a permanent departure for the teenager this summer.

Arsenal are prioritising loan proposals for the 19-year-old, who has attracted attention from Milan as well as a number of other clubs across Europe. The Gunners are not currently entertaining the idea of selling him outright and remain focused on finding a temporary move that would provide him with more regular minutes.

Nwaneri has already made a notable impact at senior level for Arsenal, scoring 10 goals in 51 competitive first-team appearances. However, his pathway to consistent playing time could be limited given the attacking options available to the club, including Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, Christos Tzolis, Eberechi Eze and Kai Havertz.

Loan market developing across Europe

The teenager has already gained experience away from the Emirates Stadium, having spent the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Marseille in Ligue 1. During that spell in the French top flight, he scored two goals in nine appearances.

Milan, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray and Fulham are among the interested parties as Arsenal consider the best loan destination for the England youth international. The emphasis from Arsenal’s side is game-time rather than a permanent exit.

Lewis-Skelly position remains unchanged

Alongside the Nwaneri situation, Arsenal also have clarity around Myles Lewis-Skelly. He loves Arsenal and wants to remain at the club.

Manchester United would be interested if Arsenal decided to sell him in the final days of the window, but that scenario is not currently active. For now, the door is closed, with Lewis-Skelly keen to stay and Arsenal having given no indication to either the player or his representatives that they wish to sell.
