  • Benoit Badiashile has completed the second stage of his Napoli medical
  • Napoli’s agreement for Badiashile is a paid loan worth €3m for the season, with an option for to make the deal permanent in June 2027 for a further €27m
  • Crystal Palace have struck an agreement with Chelsea to take Axel Disasi (28) on a paid loan without a buy option, with talks between the player’s representatives and Palace now ongoing

Chelsea Defenders Move Towards Separate Loan Exits

Chelsea’s defensive group is being reshaped through the loan market, with Benoit Badiashile on the verge of joining Napoli and Axel Disasi moving closer to Crystal Palace after separate agreements involving the Premier League club.

Badiashile has completed his medical process with Napoli and has already travelled to join the squad, bringing the Serie A club nearer to formalising the Chelsea defender’s arrival. The Frenchman passed the second stage of his checks – cardiology tests – at Villa Stuart in Rome on Wednesday, having already completed the first stage on Tuesday.

The structure of the proposed move is a paid loan worth €3m for the season. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will also have the option to make the transfer permanent in June 2027 for a further €27m.

Badiashile Joins Napoli Squad Ahead Of Genoa Opener

After completing his examinations in Rome, Badiashile continued on to Naples, where he linked up with his new team-mates in the afternoon.

Massimiliano Allegri is expected to evaluate Badiashile on the training pitch before deciding where he fits into the defensive structure. A press conference is scheduled for Thursday ahead of Napoli’s season opener away at Genoa.

Disasi Agreement Reached Between Chelsea And Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have also reached an agreement with Chelsea to loan Axel Disasi (28). Disasi has no future at Chelsea and is set for another temporary move away from the club. The former AS Monaco defender has spent the past two seasons on short-term loans, first at Aston Villa and then at West Ham United. He suffered relegation with West Ham United last season.

As was the case under Enzo Maresca, Liam Rosenior, and now Xabi Alonso, Disasi does not feature in the manager’s plans.

The agreement is for a paid loan without a buy option. Disasi’s arrival at Selhurst Park would replace the departure of his compatriot, Maxence Lacroix, who, having competed for Les Bleus at the FIFA World Cup, made the short journey across London to join Chelsea. Talks between Disasi’s representatives and Crystal Palace are now ongoing.

Context For Chelsea’s Defensive Departures

The two moves point to separate solutions for Chelsea defenders seeking minutes away from Stamford Bridge. Badiashile’s proposed switch to Napoli includes a defined route to permanence in June 2027, while Disasi’s expected move to Crystal Palace is structured as a paid loan without a buy option.

For Napoli, Allegri will now assess how Badiashile can be integrated into the squad before the opening fixture away at Genoa. For Crystal Palace, the focus remains on completing discussions with Disasi’s representatives after reaching terms with Chelsea.
