Savinho Set For North London After Long Pursuit
Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Savinho in a deal worth £75m, with another £10m available through potential add-ons.
The 22-year-old winger is now expected to complete a medical before putting pen to paper on a long-term deal with Roberto de Zerbi’s side. Savinho joined Manchester City from French club Troyes in 2024 and was also described as the former Troyes star in the reports.

Spurs’ move for the Brazilian has been developing for more than 12 months. The club failed with an attempt to sign him last summer, during the period when Thomas Frank was in charge, but Savinho chose to stay at the Etihad Stadium.
That decision did not lead to a major role under Pep Guardiola. His minutes were restricted last term, with one report describing that period as 2025/26, and he made just seven Premier League starts. Across last season, he scored four times in 36 appearances.
De Zerbi’s Squad Rebuild Accelerates
The agreement for Savinho comes during a major Tottenham recruitment drive after another dismal 17th-placed finish last term. Spurs have already strengthened heavily, with Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Martin Dubravka all arriving.
Tottenham have spent a combined £185m on midfielders Mateus Fernandes from West Ham and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle. After those additions, head coach Roberto de Zerbi turned his attention to improving his attacking options.
Savinho’s arrival will take Spurs’ summer outlay past £300m. However, the club have also brought in about £140m through the sales of Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Luka Vuskovic.
| Player | Club/Status | Details Reported |
|---|---|---|
| Savinho | Manchester City to Tottenham | Deal agreed at £75m, with a further £10m in potential add-ons. |
| Omar Marmoush | Manchester City | Talks are progressing positively; Spurs are confident of securing a deal. |
Marmoush Also On Spurs’ Radar
Tottenham are not expected to stop with Savinho. BBC Sport say discussions for Manchester City team-mate Omar Marmoush are progressing positively, while the second report states that Spurs are confident of completing a deal.
Marmoush, the Egypt international forward, joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025 for £59m. He fell down the pecking order at the Etihad last season and is another attacker Tottenham are looking to bring in before the summer transfer window closes on September 1 at 11pm.
Gakpo Interest Remains But Finances Are Unclear
Tottenham also continue to hold an interest in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo. However, there is uncertainty over whether the Lily Whites could afford a move for the Netherlands attacker in addition to financing deals for Marmoush and Savinho.
The scale of the club’s activity places Tottenham among the busiest sides of the summer, with attacking reinforcements now central to De Zerbi’s plans after extensive midfield and squad additions.
