Lille Move Towards Agreement for Ayase Ueda
Lille appear to be closing in on a major attacking addition, with Japanese forward Ayase Ueda set to leave Feyenoord after three years at the Rotterdam club.
A full agreement is said to have been reached between Feyenoord and Lille for the 28-year-old, who finished as the Eredivisie’s leading scorer after registering 25 goals last year. That campaign was his first as Feyenoord’s regular starting striker, having previously had to wait for opportunities while Santiago Gimenez stood ahead of him in the pecking order.

Ueda was involved as recently as Sunday, scoring in Feyenoord’s 2-2 draw with ADO Den Haag. According to Voetbal International, he left immediately afterwards to travel to Lille. The French club’s president Olivier Letang was also present at the match to discuss the final elements of the transfer.
Ueda’s Feyenoord Record and Career Context
Feyenoord signed Ueda from Cercle Brugge for €9 million in 2023, but his route into the team required patience. After joining, the 43-time Japan international scored 12 goals in 47 league appearances before producing the strongest campaign of his career in 2025/26.
That season brought 25 goals in 31 Eredivisie matches, enough for him to become the division’s top scorer. Across all competitions for Feyenoord, Ueda has scored 43 goals in 112 games.
Flemming Talks Advance as Lille Target Another Forward
Lille are also making progress in their pursuit of Burnley attacker Zian Flemming during the closing stages of the window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Ligue 1 side are described as optimistic about reaching an agreement, with discussions continuing behind the scenes as they move closer to a package that meets Burnley’s valuation. Lille have already had offers rejected for the 28-year-old, but positive talks have left them closing in on a deal.
Flemming scored 11 goals in 29 Premier League appearances last season, form which drew attention from potential suitors and placed clubs across Europe on alert regarding his situation.
Lille have now moved into the position of front-runners for his signature, ahead of rival clubs, and are progressing towards a full agreement. Burnley had been reluctant to sell him this summer and retain a strong contractual position, with his deal running until 2029, but may now decide to cash in.
If Lille secure the outcome they want, an agreement could be reached within the next couple of days, with confidence growing that their pursuit will end successfully.
Flemming’s Position After Burnley’s Relegation
With Lille pushing towards a full agreement with Burnley, Flemming’s own decision will be decisive in determining whether the move goes through.
Following Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League, there has been extensive speculation over whether the striker could move on. A move to Ligue 1 with Lille would be viewed as the ideal next stage in his career, although he also has several suitors in the Premier League and across Europe.
Newcastle Monitor Matias Fernandez-Pardo
Newcastle are also exploring a deal before Deadline Day for Lille striker Matias Fernandez-Pardo. The Magpies view the 21 year-old as a very interesting player, but the situation is not currently advanced and is not close to being a done deal. It remains one to watch, with Newcastle on the case. Lille value Fernandez-Pardo at around £60M.
