That figure would place Fernández alongside Alexander Isak as the joint-record Premier League transfer, after Isak moved from Newcastle to Liverpool for the same fee last summer. Fernández currently has a market value of €100m.

Chelsea Spell And Maresca Connection
Chelsea signed Fernández from Benfica in January 2023 for what was, at the time, a league-record fee of €121m. The transfer came after his role in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup triumph, and he had spent only six months with the Portuguese club before moving to Stamford Bridge.
