Paz Stands By Como Decision
Argentina international Nico Paz has explained why he decided against returning to Real Madrid, choosing instead to continue his career with Como. The attacking midfielder said his decision was based on his belief that the Italian club was the right place for his development.

Como Celebrate Champions League Debut
Paz spoke after Como’s 4:1 Champions League win over RB Leipzig, a result he framed as a landmark moment for the club. He highlighted both the team’s preparation and its motivation for the match.
“This was a historic evening. We played an incredible match. We had a huge desire to play in this game. I think we approached it in the best possible way. We are very happy with our performance,” Paz added.
Real Madrid’s Continuing Interest
Real Madrid sent Paz to Como in 2024 but kept a route open to bring him back. By summer 2026, rather than using that arrangement, all three parties agreed that the player would remain at Como.
As part of the new deal, Como paid €60m to acquire the remaining rights in Paz and take full ownership. Real Madrid, however, protected its long-term position by securing a new unilateral €80m buy-back option for summer 2027.
