Recent International Duties
Dembélé has been actively involved with the French national team, featuring in all four of their fixtures during the recent international break. This period of rest echoes a similar situation at the end of August, where Dembélé sat out PSG’s 2-2 draw away at Lille following extensive national team duties and public scrutiny of his performances for Les Bleus.
Meanwhile, Mendes has recently made four consecutive starts for Portugal, accumulating significant playing time over roughly a ten-day period. The club’s decision allows both players to recover adequately before rejoining squad preparations.
Champions League Group Stage Focus
Despite being absent from this weekend’s domestic league fixture, both Dembélé and Mendes are expected to return in time for PSG’s critical UEFA Champions League group stage match against Manchester City, scheduled for next Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium.
