Borussia Dortmund defeated Ulsan 1–0 in their final group stage match at the Club World Cup. The only goal came in the 36th minute from Daniel Svensson. The German side wasted a number of clear opportunities, particularly before the break, and could have secured a far more convincing win. With this result, Dortmund finish top of the group with seven points, while Ulsan remain last without a single point.

The first good chance came as early as the second minute when Serhou Guirassy connected with a cross in the box and found space for a shot, but it went wide of the left post. In the 16th minute, Julian Ryerson received a pass at the edge of the box and fired narrowly wide of the right post.

Three minutes later, Guirassy tried a delicate shot from the edge of the penalty area, but it was easily saved by the visiting goalkeeper. In the 27th minute, Guirassy was sent through one-on-one with the keeper, but his effort was saved again. Moments later, Adeyemi delivered a great pass for Bellingham, who volleyed just over the crossbar.

In the 36th minute, Ulsan made a costly error while playing out from the back, allowing Job Bellingham to find Daniel Svensson with a superb pass. Svensson struck a perfect shot, giving Hyun-Woo Cho no chance – 1–0 for Borussia Dortmund.

Just three minutes later, Nmecha spotted a gap and didn’t hesitate to shoot from distance, narrowly missing the right post. Soon after, Adeyemi provided another excellent ball to a teammate, only for Ulsan’s keeper to make another brilliant save.

In the 61st minute, Ulsan had their best opportunity of the match. Jin-Hyun Lee was found with a good pass in the box and shot down the middle, but Gregor Kobel saved comfortably.

In the 83rd minute, Yan Couto controlled a loose ball and fired a strong effort at the near post, but the Ulsan goalkeeper again produced a superb one-handed save.
