    Key Takeaways:

  • Palace turned down two official offers from Liverpool for centre-back Marc Guehi
  • Guehi is entering the final year of his contract but Palace demand €55 million
  • Darwin Nunez has reportedly agreed personal terms with Al-Hilal after verbal club agreement

Crystal Palace have rejected two offers from Liverpool for central defender Marc Guehi. The English champions have been strongly linked with the London club’s captain following the sale of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen earlier this summer, while Ibrahima Konate has yet to extend his contract.

According to journalist Santi Aouna, Liverpool made two formal bids, though the financial terms were not disclosed. Both were below Palace’s €55 million (£48 million) valuation. Liverpool reportedly believe this price is not justified for a player whose contract expires in less than a year. As a result, the Premier League champions do not intend to submit a third offer in the current transfer window.

Meanwhile, Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is getting closer to a transfer to Al-Hilal. According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have reached a verbal agreement for the deal. For the transfer to be completed, the Uruguayan forward also needed to give his approval. Saudi media reported that he did so last night, making the move a matter of time. It is claimed that Al-Hilal coach Simone Inzaghi personally requested Nunez’ signing.

The exact transfer fee has not been disclosed, but Liverpool were asking between €60 and €70 million. Napoli, Milan and Juventus also showed interest in the player.

After the friendlies against Athletic Bilbao on Monday, Nunez appeared to wave goodbye to the Anfield crowd. The Uruguayan showed good form in pre-season, scoring five goals.
