Key Takeaways:
Barcelona turned on the style in their final friendly before the start of the season, thrashing club legend Cesc Fabregas’ Como side 5-0. The Catalans finished most of the job before the break, when Fermin Lopez scored twice (21′, 35′), and Raphinha (37′) and Lamine Yamal (42′) added one each. After the interval, Blaugrana slowed the tempo and scored only once more, with Yamal netting his second of the night in the 49th minute.

This was the last friendly for the Spanish champions before the start of the new season, which prompted head coach Hansi Flick to use two completely different line-ups.
In the first half, the German specialist fielded Joan Garcia in goal, with Eric Garcia, Ronald Araujo, Pau Cubarsi, Alejandro Balde, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Fermin Lopez, Lamine Yamal, Marcus Rashford and Raphinha ahead of him.
After the break, Roonie Bardghji, Gavi, Marc Casado, Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde, Gerard Martin, Jofre Torrents, Ferran Torres, Pedro Fernandez and Toni Fernandez came on.
The match also featured Sergi Roberto, who wore the red-and-blue shirt for 18 years and at one point captained the Camp Nou side. Since last season, however, he is playing for Como, and the crowd gave him special attention, applauding him as he was substituted in the 70th minute.
Now the Catalans are set to start their La Liga campaign, where they will try to defend their trophy for the first time since 2019, the last time the team managed to win back-to-back titles. Barcelona’s first match will be an away trip to Mallorca on 16 August.
